Burglary and thefts at small businesses are a constant challenge. In 2023, KTLA reported, "For the fifth year in a row, Los Angeles has the dubious distinction of being the number one city in the nation when it comes to organized retail theft." If you have Low-E energy-efficient windows, it could cause your artificial turf to melt or your real grass in your lawn to burn and get bald spots. This is because these energy efficient, Low-E windows have a very reflective coating on the outside. The hot sunlight bounces off the window onto the lawn causing it to burn or melt as soon as the first week of having it installed! That's where we come in. Non-reflective ceramic window film can help protect your investment. If you have energy efficient/Low-E windows, we should install a non-reflective film on the outside of the windows before the artificial turf is put down. There's no way to know exactly what angle of the sun at what time of year can cause the damage. That's why we strongly recommend getting it installed before you install the artificial turf to prevent your brand new lawn from getting ruined. We recommend 35%, 50%, or 70% non-reflective ceramic film installed on the outside of the window to reduce the glare onto the turf. 50% is the most common. It will also block about half the heat from the sunlight coming through the windows, making your home more energy efficient as well. In order to provide a quote, we'll need pictures and measurements of each individual pane of glass. You can text those to our designated texting number: 818-200-6657. Most of the time, second story windows are too high and don't need to be tinted. But it all just depends on the particular angle of the house and lawn. So I would recommend just starting with the lower level to see if that's all that's needed to protect the turf.
Please note: We have over 25 years experience tinting homes, commercial buildings, vehicles, and more. We're been successfully installing Tintwork non-reflective ceramic film on the outside of home windows since 2018. This technique so far has prevented the artificial turf or real grass lawn from burning or melting. However, we cannot make any guarantees that it will work for every home because there are too many factors involved. For example, there could be something else on the house that could be causing some reflection. Or maybe the reflection is coming from your neighbor's house. Or it could just simply be the exact location or angle of your particular home and lawn which creates an extra magnifying-glass effect in an area. There's no way to know for sure, which is why we can't guarantee the film will work. That being said, we've had great success thus far with our window films.. We are quite confident that this installation will protect your investment as well as help make your home a little more energy efficient in the process. It's a win-win! We're open Mon-Fri 8am-6pm and Sat-Sun 9am-2pm. Feel free to call us anytime to get a free estimate 818-473-9991. We all love the sun.
